What step are you on?
Have you rebooted yet?
Do you have the superuser Ninja icon in the app drawer?
These are the steps I did:

Code:
- open up your favorite terminal emulator program
- cd /tmp
- cp /sdcard/rage*.bin /tmp/
- chmod 777 rage*.bin
- ./rage*.bin
- ignore it's output, we are thinking outside of the box here, just wait for it to finish and return a $
- now go to settings -> applications -> manage applications -> running -> terminal and force close that girlie
- relaunch the terminal app and you should be greeted with the friendly # symbol. Toda you now have a root shell
When I relaunched my terminal app I still had a $ sign.

Exploit failed. Rerun rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin.
Does that just mean re-do all those steps?

Did you do this?

And until myself or someone who is less lazy rolls a version of rage that doesn't check for adb you will have to enable USB debugging.

Settiings -> applications -> development -> USB debugging.

Google Talk is PC only and I have Mac...

Yes, Debugging is enabled and it's on my notification panel.

I don't want to bother installing that. I appreciate you trying to help, if you aren't willing to help me through this forum then I understand, thank you though.

Maybe you should try rerunning the ./rage*.bin.

Make sure it's done. I saw the $ at the end and then a few more lines of text.

I don't know if it means anything, but when i re open terminal there are two money signs now instead of originally one. When I try doing all the steps over again, after the second step I get "cp: /tmp/rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin: Text file busy"

You don't need to copy the file over again you've already done that.
Just cd /tmp
./rage*.bin

My droid is running so slow right now and I'm not sure why. It's lagging real hard.

I'm trying to do those two steps you posted.

I'm wondering if you let the command finish before killing the terminal.

Try going into settings - applications and force close some unnecessary programs to get your speed back.
