Removing Aps

My phone is stock 2.1. Is there anything else I have to do to remove all traces of aps that I install other than dragging them to the trash can?

Dragging the icons to the trash can only removes the apps from your home screen. If you want to delete the apps go to settings, then applications and You can delete what Apps you can from there.
