recovering a corrupted SD card?

how do u fix a sd card that is corrupted? some pictures and videos are still there but most have disappeared.

Does the phone say it's damaged?

Cause this happened to me yesterday actually, only thing I could do was format it

So I lost about 1200 songs and a ton of pics

it did it told me to reformat i ignored it pull battery and only partial pictures and videos returned...

boy i did that program and it found a bunch of stuff and put on my card. and know my gallery doesnt load.. i use astro and its a mess with video picture music and such nothing but when i click on a item nothing happens im so screwed..
