Recover Deleted Text Messages

My wife needs to recover deleted texts from her Maxx. Any suggestions. Currently not rooted, but will root to accomplish this.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the bad news, but there's probably not a good way. Unless you need them for court, in which case they can be subpoenaed, depending on how old they are.

You might also see if that phone has the trash folder in the text messaging app.

Unless they are in the trash in the text app. If not then they are gone unless you used a backup app such as SMC Backup. For future text messages I would suggest using SMC Backup.
