reconnecting rooted OG DROID

Im getting new phone soon, can my wife reconnect my rooted D1 with gingerbread? will verizon notice if we do over the phone?

Your old phone will be deactivated when your new phone is activated. If your wife wants to use the Droid as her primary phone, you can call up Verizon and have it activated on her number. If she just wants to use it as an android device over wifi, you can jsut skip the activation process and it will work fine.
