Receiving double texts on Handcent

What's up Fab fam. I've had some issues receiving double texts from folks. I've done a force close and cleared data and cache. Any other ideas?

Are you sure they are both from handcent? If you have notifications enabled on your stock messaging app, each sms will show up twice.

I have the same issue. I use the blur messaging app but the aosp sms app. I turn off notifications from blur sms and still get 2 messages for each text received in the aosp app.

If you installed a theme you will get double messages. Even if you enabled Blur msgs (like I did) and then install a theme you will add back the AOSP stuff. Just recheck all the messaging/text message stock apps for notifications. If you are running Blur messaging, you can go into System/Apps and rename MMS.apk (you don't need it for Blur msgs) and that will probably solve your problem too.

What if I want to use aosp sms app?

You only need the messaging.apk file in your System/App folder for Handcent and the stock messaging to work. Renaming the MMS.apk that some themes install to MMS.bak will disable the double notifications in Handcent, if that is the cause of your problem.
