I use it daily. Currently working through Mega Man X and Super Mario All Stars on the ol' SNES after work. Great times. And rooted phones have gestures they can use. For example, there's no mirror (what you see on the phone is what you see on the TV and vice versa) when you turn the HDMI on and the screen on the phone freezes. If you're rooted, all it takes is a shake of the device to turn the screen back on and a shake to route the signal back to the TV.
