Razr Maxx updated and now facebook pictures won't sync to contacts

My Droid Razr Maxx updated today. I have my facebook friends synced to my contacts but the pictures won't show up. All the contacts are there, just not the pictures. And I can't get them to show up. Anyone know what's going on and how I can fix it?

Mine did this, but just on the Favorite Contacts Widget. Tried syncing on Facebook and contacts....no luck on my end. Would like help too!

This has also happened to me I've synced FB and it still won't sync my FB pics with my contacts and favorite widgets. So now all my sms don't have pics etc. Very frustrated... I didn't think this would be an issue with JB. I'm wishing I had just left ICS now. My tablet works great with JB why won't my phone?? Any suggestions regarding the FB syncing would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Happened at first for me but then corrected itself. Go into the FB app and sync contacts.

Make sure you have the latest FB app.

Also try going into your phonebook settings and making sure "all contacts" is chosen in account sync. Then try rebooting.

Like I said, it happened to me too but resolved itself after a short while.

I have been working on the same problem for 2 days now. I got the update and they went away, so I did an FDR and a cache wipe. No luck.

The picture show up when I go into my contacts, but are still blank everywhere else.

Mine only affected the Widget - I've tried changing contact settings - but no go. It has been a few days and its still doing it. When I go to the list to choose new contacts that list also shows the lack of pictures - though if I go to 'People' it shows the picture just fine.

Any help to make this work would be appreciated.

I do realize I can put a picture in each contact for my Google Contacts and a pciture will show, just not the persons fbook picture, and I could also look for a new/different similar widget that might work.

Yours is behaving exactly like mine is. I have tried quite a few things that have not helped. I deleted the FB App updates as far back as I could, and then let it update back to current. I've hit every "sync" option on every single screen that I see one. 2 FDRs and 2 cache wipes. The good news is that I got 23 hours of use on my last charge, and I had in the ball park of 6 hrs screen time and about an hour of downloading stuff over wi-fi. I'm pretty happy about that. The GPS gets fixes much faster now, too. I just want my favorite contacts widget back!

I am beginning to think that this is related to the fact that I moved all of my contacts to google before doing that 1st post update FDR/cache wipe. Previously, I had contact storage in the people app set to "backup assistant plus contacts", but my real contact list was in google. When I manually added a contact to my phone, it would go into BAP instead of into google. In an attempt to switch to a google only strategy, I exported my google contacts and my BAP contacts to .CSV files from the web pages, and then deleted all of my contacts from both (phone off while doing that) I manually combined the contacts into one .CSV file, and then imported the list back into google. At this point, I did that 1st FDR. My thinking was that the phone would import the google contacts and I would set the contact storage in the people app to google so that any new contacts that I added to the phone would go into google instead of BAP.

Well, the good news is that all of my contacts are now in my phone, and in google, and everything works fine from a storage perspective. The only issue is the john doe pictures in my favorite contacts. In the people app, I have pictures. When selecting people to add to the widget, the list shows john doe pics.

Makes me wonder if the widget is somehow tied to BAP...

Bump... still no pics in fav contacts. Also not geting pics for text messages. I do get pics while the phone is ringing when folks call me...

Any suggestions?

Going into the FB app and in Friends to go Settings, Sync contacts. Reboot. Now pictures are showing up.

Thanks for the attempt, Red. I tried that again (even though I have tried several times before). Still not working.

I'm also noticing that my phone does not recognize my Facebook profile as mine. I started getting FB pictures from others in text messages earlier this morning, but when I reply, my own pic is the John Doe photo instead of my FB pic like it used to be before JB.

Try uninstalling the FB app, reinstall and then resync with contacts. Then reboot the phone.

I could not completely uninstall FB, but I did remove all of the updates. Then I disabled the FB app, went into the People App, and removed everyone from my favorites. I removed the favorite contact widget from my home screen, and rebooted the phone. When it came back up, I re-enabled FB. It updated to the current version. I then went into the People app, and verified that all of my contacts were synced, and that they all had pictures. I made one Facebook only contact a favorite. In the People app, he showed up with his FB picture under the favorites group. I re-added the favorite contacts widget to my desktop, and he was not there. Hitting the + sign to add contacts once again only gives me a list of google contacts with no FB information at all. I'm stumped.

So, I called VZW support yesterday. Went through level 1 and 2 there, then got transferred to Moto, who used Rescue for Android to remote control my phone. He screwed sound for over 2 hours, and gave up. Apparently, they are blaming FB. He said "Facebook just doesn't work with the JB widget".

At this point, I give up, too. The "1x1 contact" widgets work fine, so I am adding them to my home screen. The good news is that you can stack them on top of each other to make a group, just like you do with applications. in the end, I now have a folder with all of my favorites instead of a widget that I have to swipe down. It takes about the same number of key presses to get to my contacts this way, so I'm happy.

My guess is that they fix the fav contacts widget soon.

I am just curious, just anyone else have a problem with the "me" contact not associating itself properly with facebook?
