Assuming that your battery meter wasn't way off my thoughts are some sort of hardware failure occurred. If actually was a low power shut down if you didn't get to charge by now it's not going to happen without use of a factory cable.
The Razr I just returned ended doing a low power shut down when really needed use of the phone. That day I only got 6hr off of a full charge due data issues & phone not charging while in car(30min or so total after driving to a few different places around town). We made a stop a Costco & when we were done I headed out to put our stuff in the car while the wife picked up something for us to eat, since her iPhone doesn't remember were the car is parked like my Razr & neither did she during some unpleasant phone conversation about where am I because she's where we parked & I'm not, well it was true I did in fact just pull out of the spot to go pick her up so she wouldn't have to walk, however I literally just pulled out & she was nowhere in site. Anyway phone shut off before I could figure out where she thought we had parked & went to.
