Radar Detector

My friend is looking into developing a radar detector app, I'm curious to find out if there are even any phones out there with the hardware capabilities to detect a radar signal? And if not, what are your ideas on building an add on, similar to the credit card readers that interface through the headphone jack but a radar detector instead? If anyone thinks this is even possible feel free to post your opinions. Or your ideas on how to possibly do this. Thanks

-I imagine you mean a radar detector while in a vehicle to counteract speed traps.

-I do not believe an input jack like a headphone jack would have enough power to support a device that usually runs through 12V car accessory slots.

-I do not think an add on product would make sense because it's a mobile device and you would never use the add on in a situation that is mobile in the sense you are thinking.
