Quick question about quick boot

I just got a simple question that i hope someone can help me with. I was wondering with the quick boot app for root users, it gives you the option to boot into recovery or into the bootloader. What exactly is the bootloader? And what do you do from there? I know about droid 2 and X having an encrypted bootloader and someone has figured out how to put the clockwork recovery on the X, but i guess i don't know exactly what that means. Anyway, i was just wondering what the difference between bootloader and recovery is?

Bootloader exists in Android-based mobile phone to start the sequence of loading operating system [COLOR=blue ! important][FONT=&quot][COLOR=blue ! important][FONT=&quot][/FONT][/FONT][/COLOR][/COLOR]into RAM.

i dont suggest booting into the bootloader unless you need to. really the only things you need are recovery and reboot.

Ohhhh is the bootloader the thing you open when you flash something like sprecovery using rsdlite?
