Quick help with swapping a rooted phone

Okay, so my Dad is going to Verizon to buy a smart phone before the tiered data kicks in. I currently have a Droid X running rooted 2.3.3, and I really want his upgrade to get a Thunderbolt. If he were to get the phone and have it activated on my line, could I put my rooted Droid X onto his line without having to unroot it or anything? I believe you can with #228 or something, but I'm not entirely sure. Thanks!

I think you can just call them and do it over the phone.

You might even be able to do it online.

its *228 lol and yes but make sure you dont have like a rom so they dont see you rooted it..
