questions about factory reset

so i want to factory reset my phone. i have backups of my contacts and the apps i want backed up on my sd card. if i factory reset my phone will it also wipe the sd card making me loose all of my backups?

no.....well....master reset will cost you all your apps. but your data should be safe. Just boot into stock recovery and master reset away

Even though sometimes its not reliable, google backs up all the apparently you downloaded from the market... should do the same with your email and contacts.
