When we are about to download a new app, I read somewhere that we should be careful, what we allow apps to access on our phone. My problem is I don't have any idea what areas are more sensitive that others and also how should I know if the app really needs access to that area?
The security access information displayed when downloading an app can be misleading. It will sometimes sound worse than what it actually is. I guess it's pretty much up to you and what you feel comfortable downloading. For myself, what I generally pay more attention to is what people are saying in the reviews. If there are many people posting complaints about abnormal problems with the app (more than just typical app bug problems), I will not download it. I've also been trying to make it a habit not to download apps if there is not a revision history provided on the app page or on the dev's website.
