Can you imagine talking in the rain and water seeping in between the modules and exploding in your hand?

I assume there is or will be some sort of optional back plate to protect everything. Kind of defeats hot swapping easily, but I picture most people just configuring their phone for whatever event they're heading to. As a daily driver you probably won't need easy access to swap components.

Since we brought up waterproof, I dug this up.

I don't care for BGR, but it does say in here that Ara will be as water resistant as normal smartphones. We all know that's variable, but at least it means a few water droplets won't turn your new, ahem, toy into a paperweight.
