Problems with text messaging

I have the Handcent that I use for my text messaging. I get notifications when everyone text me, except for when my husband texts me. I don't know why. I have made sure that the volume is up. This problem only occurs when my husbands texts. I don't think that it's anything that I've done, but I'm not for sure.
Any help would be appreciated.

Open up a text from your husband, then click the little person with the gear at the top right of the screen, click notification settings and see what that says..

hey i have a problem with txt msgs also, when i receive a txt msg it shows the little notification for the original text messaging way and they hancent. how do i change it that it only shows up with handcent?

Worked for me..... and falls under the "so obvious why didn't I think of that" category. LOL
