ok, so far i have rooted my DX...i was able to download clockworkmod ROM manager and then i downloaded darkslide v4.2 and its saved to my sd card. i purchased droid X bootstrap but when it starts downloading, the downloading icon on the notifaction bar it just dissapears and nothing happens?? so im stuck! someone heeeelp!

Just out of curiosity do you not see the boot straps in your app drawer?
If you don't, the you're saying the download is not completing. Try going to settings/apps/managae apps/all apps/market. Delete both cache and data. Then try downloading again.

Well in the short term you could try downloading the apk from the developers website.
