D2 Bootstrap Won't Install Correctly on DX

So I've been trying to install Droid2 Bootstrap as part of installing the rooted GB leak (yes, I'm a little late to the party apparently...and also somewhat of a non-techy user, so please bear with me), but it's simply not working.

I tried DL'ing Bootstrap from a link from another DroidForums member, on mediafire. DLs successfully, but it doesn't show up in the app tray, and when I locate it in the Downloads folder, it asks if I want to open to HTMLviewer or OpenOffice. The result isn't helpful no matter which I select - nothing happens after the file "opens"... I've also tried DL'ing and opening using Dolphin Browser HD, but that just opens a text file. Further, I've tried just googling the Bootstrap and DL'ing from other locations, but the vast majority of those attempts don't even result in a successful download.

Thoughts??

Do you have Unknown Sources checked in Settings->Applications?

It's an APK file, right? If so, and Unknown Sources is checked, when you click on it in your phone's file explorer, it should offer to install it.

Are you sure the file you downloaded has the .apk extension, it may be a .zip that needs to be extracted before the .apk file inside the archive can be installed.

Yes, Unknown Sources is checked. When I DL the file in the stock browser, it's an APK. When I DL it in Dolphin (as instructed by the person who gave me the link to DL), it's a TXT.

EDIT: Strike that - actually both ways downloads a TXT file. Does anyone have a valid link to an APK for Droid2 Bootstrap?
