Problem with Ringtones

I am trying to figure out why when I have set a ringtone to a particular contact that when they text me or call that my default ringtone plays and then goes right to the ringtone I selected for my contact.

Is there anyway to fix this so that all I hear is the ringtone I gave to my contact?

I'm still trying to learn.
