Problem w/voice recognition

I have a stock phone.
When I use voice recognition as input to text and emails, it works great every time.
When I try to use voice input to google, for a google search, it never works, I get a message
stating input not recognized please try again.
Any input would be appreciated.

Using GoogleNow?
Might be a mem issue - have you tried clearing the cache?
