problem adding facebook contacts

i am having trouble adding my facebook contacts to my phone contacts. tonight my phone would not join a phone contact with correct facebook contact so i removed the facebook account from contacts but now when i try to add the facebook account to contacts it doesnt show up as added. any help is much appreciated!
