Pretty frusterated with VZW after my phone call today.

So I had to call them yesterday due to issues with my wife's D1. Figured it out after the call that her battery was tripping out so I just gave her my stock battery from my D2.

Anyway the rep mentioned that I have had 19 phones since I signed up with VZW and multiple complaints on file. She wanted to know what she could do to make me a "happy customer".....so I gave her my answer...."send me a Droid 3". As I am sure you can guess she was unable to comply. But I guess that triggered something with her because she started offering me a free upgrade to a Thunderbolt. Of course I declined (sorry I prefer my Moto's and must have physical keyboard....plus I have yet to be impressed with the Tbolt when I compare it to my D2).

Well I can only assume she wasn't satisfied because she transferred me to a supervisor who followed her lead in trying to push a Tbolt on me. After I refused a couple times....then took insult to the offer for an iphone....he decided to transfer me again to a customer loyalty specialist who apparently gets all the good deals. Long story short I settled for them covering my bill and giving me a discount towards the D3 upon it's release. SUPPOSEDLY it is noted in my account. I will call and verify that tomorrow.

But I couldn't and still can't get over how many times they tried to push a Tbolt on me.....can anyone figure why?

They were pushing it to me as a free upgrade....so the only sale would have been an extension of my contract which I am more than happy to do......when the Droid 3 is out that is.

How long have you been with VZW? 19 replacements is a lot of phones. I used to work for Big Red so I'm looking at your posting from a different angle. Why would they offer you something that isn't out yet? The TB is the only 4G release so far. They are trying to make you a happy customer TODAY. Now you admit the issue with your wife's D1 is resolved, but you still won't be happy until you get a discount on a D3. I'm not sure why you are frustrated. Your wife's issue is fixed and you still demand more.

Am I seeing this wrong?

lol @ Vulcan... How Dare big red to try to satisfy a customer with the best phone they have in their lineup as of now. They obviously dont understand that true custyomer service is to give users phones that are not out yet. That is oviously an example that they dont care about their customers :)

I dont think they look at phones the way some forum members do. The tbolt is new, therefore better, to them maybe. And maybe it wasnt that they were making a $ale, but more so the fact of them moving inventory.

first off I wasn't pushing at all. The first rep is the one who pulled up all of it and started the conversation. I don't want the Tbolt so why would I push for it? As for the discount....I wasn't asking for that either. My frusterations are because I didn't bring all of this on.....they insisted on pushing that dang phone at me.

They didn't offer the D3....this must be getting misread. When I was asked about what they could do that was my smartA$$ answer. So again.....I was not demanding anything. This is why it was so irritating to me. So to clear that up they didn't offer....nor mention the Droid 3 until I did.

As for the 19 phones. I have been with VZW since Dec of 07. So yes....19 phones is horrible. In my opinion....which is why when I talk VZW I only talk about service, coverage, and customer service. I NEVER talk about quality of phone. Now to be fair my Droid 2....well no...can't say that....I have had 7 of these and none of those were rooted. In fact I haven't had a single issue with my Droid 2 since rooting it....well.....none of the issues I was having before which required all those replacements.

I am NOT knocking VZW's customer service as they have always been awesome to me. What I am knocking here is that THEY kept pushing the issue. I felt like they were trying to set me up or something. And to be honest I think my frustrations sparked when they tossed the offer for the iphone in. Am I explaining this right? I didn't ask for squat other than support for the D1.....they pushed the rest. They didn't have to do any of this and I would have been fine getting off the phone after getting my assistance. But now I find myself frustrated when I think about all the times they tried to push it on me.

this has pretty much been my guess as well.....or to try and get me on a 4g plan or something like that.

You guys are crazy! I've been trying to get them to give me a tbolt 4ever! I have a stupid fascinate that isn't usable until its rooted and still sucks!
