Powers down

Twice tonight while I have my hotspot on my phone just powered down and would not reboot? I had to trade batteries
and even then no luck on a reboot? Any ideas on what may have happened? after I pulled the battery I got it to restart and now I have to recharge it?

I think maybe it was just a low battery, even though it was on the charger? No problems with the phone today but wow that was a bummer when it was on the charger to just shut down?
