power button physically not working anymore.....question

The power button on my g1 droid doesn't work anymore. When I press it it will not turn the screen on, nor turn it off. It's physically jacked up. It doesn't click anymore like it used to when pressed.
I have the asurion insurance. Will they cover something like that even though I am rooted and rom'd? thanks.

Go back to stock and bring it into the verizon store, they'll probably give you a new one on the spot.

Nope, you're beyond warranty. However I just saw the other day there is an app for that! I think it's called buttons, check it out.

is asurion the insurance with vzw? if so go back to stock and file a claim. if its the 3rd party then just file a claim online and they will send u a new one. when you get the new one u will have to send in your old one. also i dont think it matters with a 3rd party insurance if you're rooted or not. it cover WHATEVER the issue.
