Post your display hours & battery level

I've noticed numerous posts on battery life from the RAZR maxx, but some claims seem skewed because of different peoples usage habits. Since by far the most power hungry element is the display, I would like for people to post their display hours and battery level right before you plug in your phone to charge. I think this would provide a more accurate measure of battery life. Thanks!

[edit] *please be sure to specify if your phone is a maxx or original razr*

I usually get about 2-2.5 hours of screen on time in the first 8-10 hours off the charger and my phone needs plugged in. I have. Friend who Probly only has 30 min of screen on time in the first 10 hours and still has 80% left. so it makes it seem as though he is getting twice the battery life I'm getting when actually in the end we both get around 2.5 hours on screen just get it there in 8 hours and it takes him 20 hours to get there

Phone has been on for 17 hours, my battery is at 30% and screen time is 2 hours and 40 minutes. But I used slacker or pandora for 3 hours so that may distort what you are looking for.

Thanks for the responses..it really clears things up for me. My last screen time was around 3.5 hours when I needed to charge. I must be a heavy user in terms of screen usage which explains the sometimes short times between charges. I suppose I was expecting the phone to last all day with the screen constantly on...I think because of an early review where someone stated they were able to play video all day long without charging the battery. Expectations have been adjusted.

Ya I'm into sure how ppl are getting such high screen times. I have no background data on, screen brightness set at 20% and 3g turns off when my screen turns off. And I only get around 2.5 hours.

Have you guys tried charging your phones while powered off???. Are you using smart actions battery saver???

Also... shutting off your 3g at screen off is OK, unless your constantly having to wake up your phone. Then it has to require the network.. I have mine set to shut down data sync at screen off. It made a big difference.

If your in a 3g area, do you have your device set to CDMA only?? If not then the 4g radio is searching for a signal and is eating your battery.

How about screen brightness?? Mine is as low as possible, and I use the power settings widget to brighten the screen, or turn on and off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS.

Hope this helps????

My phone has auto sync ans background data off screen brightness at 20%. GPS,Bluetooth, wifi all off only on 3g because I'm not in a 4g area. And my data connection shuts off when screen is off. And I usually get around 2.5 on screen and 8-10 overall. This is one of the worst batteries I've had on a phone

1hr:24min screen time. 15hr:16 min run time. 50% battery. Brightness set as low as possible. Bluetooth all day, sync all day. 3G only.

I've used mine for a few mins at a time doing things with diff apps or just texting and whatever without it plugged in for say several hours and I swear the sucker never goes under 90%.... plug in and its charged in around 10mins. I'm very happy so far with battery life for what usage I do. I really need to have it out and about with heavy usage and data usage before I can get a good read on it.

But I guess my question is 4G vs 3G... I have great 4G coverage same with 3G but does having it in 4G use up more and just how much more power than 3G? I keep it on wifi when I'm at home or around a connection I have saved or open connection..sometimes I leave it looking for a connection and forget but it doesn't do much. The 4G question has me wondering if although the speeds are a major difference does it really matter with the small functions I'm doing such as pulling a weather app up, connection to steamapp and other things that use data vs 3G.

The simple answer is... Wi-Fi consumes the least amount of battery between the 3. Followed by 3g, and 4g is the biggest hog.

4g is a separate radio, and while it runs, the 3g radio is also active I believe. And depending on your reception, your phone will chew up your battery. One of the inherent flaws in this generation of 4g devices.

Also as pointed out several tines here already... your screen is everything on these phones. Its your interface, and your screen. It uses lots of battery.......
