Possible to Trun of Data Usage?

I have a new Droid Verison phone, with the 150MB data plan, as I plan to use the Wifi feature of the phone. How do I keep from running up the data on my bill? Or turning off the data usage of the Verison network?

Set it on Airplane mode or go to settings/data manager and uncheck data enabled.
