Please tell me 2.2 will fix these...please...

just bought a DX...everything is just fine except two things...

first let me say im not coming down on this phone because i hate it. i love motorola and i love android. i actually take it personal when someone has something bad to say about android lol its a drug and im addicted...but these are pretty serious and i hope a software upgrade can fix these...

1.) ringer/notifications/music volume is not even close to being loud enough. I read somewhere that they can and did restrict how loud the speaker can be. might sound dumb but thats why im asking. i have no idea whats up with it. D1 was ten times louder. can a software upgrade be a fix?

2.) camera and video...well...they suck. I have tried every possible setting. I have tried every possible location (outdoors, indoors, sunny, shady, etc...) and the 99% of pictures are blurry and grainy. Same with the 720p video capture. Definitely not 720p. not to mention no touch screen button to take picture. can a software upgrade fix this as well?

1. It has already been announced on the Motorola forum that 2.2 will be fixing the volume issue.

2. Most people take blurry pics with this phone because they don't realize it's a 2 step process with the button. When you're ready to take a picture, press and hold the camera button half way down for it to focus. Once the picture is in focus, press it all the way down to capture the picture.

As far as the HD video goes, don't forget that this is a phone and not a video camera. This phone does take 1280x720 video, but you can't go comparing the quality with a video camera.

Hope this helps you out...

actually it does! thanks man. i just messed around with the camera and tried what u said. alot better. i always assumed it did it on its own. as in when u pressed the button (i still think they should and hope they add a on screen button) it auto focused then took a picture when it sensed it was focused.

as for the volume issue....THANK...GOD....cause this friggin sucks lol

2.2 adds an on-screen button to take the pics... ;)

nice lol hey man since i have u here and u sound like u know what ur talking about when it comes to the DX, i just have one more question. When someone calls...why is it that sometimes it will be slide to answer...and sometimes it will be a button press to answer...know what i mean? i dont want to slide to answer anymore. i want to press the button that says answer...

The slide to answer is engaged when the phone is locked. If you don't want this to happen, then don't make your phone lock when the screen turns off.

You can add a password to the phone to enable more security if you'd like to not have the phone lock but remain secure. Go to settings > Location and security settings > 1/2 way down menu, look for SCREEN LOCK option. Uncheck that. Click on SECURITY LOCK and decide if you'd prefer a number password or a pattern password. Voila.
