Hi All,
I am trying to put my pics from my droid onto the computer and have not been able to figure out how to do it. I know that it is probably pretty easy. I usually use Picasa
thanks,
Doesn't your pc pop up an option to open your droid to import pictures? When you plug the usb cable into your droid and the option comes onto your screen to enable usb transfer click yes, a pop up should come onto your pc screen shortly after it finishes installing device hardware and then select one of your photo programs on the pc and import from there.
Alternatively, when you plug the phone into the computer, drag down the notification bar and click on usb connected and enable the connection. You'll see the computer prompt at that point and usually a new drive will appear. If you open that up, it'll show all your files on the SD card. Pictures are usually stored in the DCIM folder.
You need to hook up your phone to the computer via USB (the charger has a USB connection into the actual plugin part) when you plug it in the phone will ask you to hit yes to USB connection. Your PC will show an external drive..Under the SDCARD folder on your phone is a folder called DCIM...that is where all of your pictures are..Just select them all and copy them to whatever folder on your PC you want them. All done...If you get comfortable with this....load the free app drop box. It will load to your phone. Then you go to dropbox.com and download the software to your PC. When you hit dropbox on your phone after taking a picture, you pick share..and dropbox will be one option. Click that and it will automatically load to your computer ...It's so much easier with no connection necessary...I would get used to the USB port connection just so you can see that your phone is just like a PC. It has folders and files that you can download to your PC. Once you get used to that..Dropbox is the best because you don't even have to be home to send a picture of video to your PC...You can do that with any PC you use as long as you download the software and create an account...good luck!
I got it, I had to turn off debugging first. We also use the Droid to tether our laptop to with PDanet. For some reason that did not allow the screen to come up that would allow you to download the pics. Thanks again and thanks for the dropbox info.
