Picture folders on the Droid

I am hoping I can explain this....I had the blackberry tour and then the HTC Eris Droid. On both of those phones I had ALL my pics set up in folders (ie..contacts, friends, family). So when I would go into my contacts and add a pic to that person's number it would let me choose what folder I wanted to view. I recently switched to the Motorola Droid because it has the physical keyboard and a flash on the camera. Well when I try to add a pic to my contacts it makes me go thru every pic on the phone instead of view by folder which I have already created on the phone. Any advice on how to fix this would be appreciated,

Go to "Gallery"
Go to your contacts folder
Select contact
"Set as"
Select "Contact Icon" in popup

I have the Eris, so I can't swear it's the same, but when I connect to my PC and "mount" the SD card, I made folders for all my photos (Family, Vacation, Car Show, etc.) then when I disconnected, all my photos were in folders.
