Photo gallery locked

I have had this happen with two Samsung Galaxy Legends. This time I opened an attachment on an email from a trusted source and instead of going into the attachments folder it started a new folder in my photo gallery named downloads. I think this is what is locking the photo gallery and cannot view individual pics, delete pics or folders. The folders all show up but they are frozen. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have a video in there I need to send to my vet.

Welcome to the forum

Some downloaded attachments will in fact go to the download folder. That is one user accessible location that does not get indexed by the Gallery, normally.

Go to the app manager in settings and scroll to all. Find Gallery and clear the cache and settings. Restart and wait a few minutes for everything to index again. If you are syncing the Gallery with anything in the cloud you may want to recheck those settings.
