Phone won't stay connected to computer

Trying to gab pics from phone. When I connect it installs the Motocast software, and initially it detects the phone, but by the time I go to copy the pics it says my phone cannot be detected, then it connects again, then disconnects. Rinse and repeat ad nauseum.

I've uninstalled and re-installed the software several times.

Also, I cannot access the phone unless the software is installed.

Very frustrating!
