Phone volume management- any experience?

Hi all.
I was looking for a ringtone that will be heard in the noisy environment I work in , and
I came across this app for androids (mine is galaxy S3)that is supposed to make the phone's speaker louder:

Volume+.apk

the developer explains about some required changes in the phone , that I am hesitating to try - since I am not experienced with androids..

I'll appreciate any advice if you have any opinion on this app.

is it safe to download & install this one? I'd hate to cause any damages and/or void the warranty.

I know several who have used that app with no issues but everyone's outcome could vary. Have you looked into Zedge (app in the Play Store) to see if you can find a loud ringtone that would work for what you need before trying the volume app?
