Phone storage for apps

Coming from an original Droid, I was surprised to see I had over 6GB of free space on my phone, separate from my SD card! Is there a way to set up the phone so that any time it would normally use the SD card, it instead uses this "Phone Storage"? App installs, any time an app needs access to store a file, etc?

Apps will load in "internal" memory unless it stipulates that it can be moved and run from "external" memory, or the sdcard. I don't think you can force an app onto the sdcard. And I'm not sure if you actually need one, but I have a Market app to move them over. You have to be careful in what you move because if there's a widget involved it won't work if it's on the sdcard.
