Phone slide lock wont do anything

My son's slide to unlock feature is not doing anything. He cannot answer calls, or access the phone. Tried a battery pull. Any suggestions?

The only thing I know would be to wipe data/cache. Boot into stock recovery by holding x while powering on, then it gets to the triangle with the ! In it hit the search button on the keyboard. Use the volume down key to navigate and the camera key to select. Hope that helps.
