Phone often says "Verizon Wireless" - why?

I have my phone just sitting on my desk - screen is dark. Every now and then, it will literally speak "Verizon Wireless" . How do I get this to stop?

I found it out that it comes from my Sound setting for Network lost and/or Roaming tones. Unchecked them and now silent.
