My phone keeps saying "Verizon Wireless"

My DROID2 GLOBAL keeps saying "Verizon Wireless" every 5 minutes, and it gets really annoying. How do I turn that off??? I have had this phone for about 5 weeks now, and I am sick and tired of it saying that.

Try going into settings>sound and unchecking roaming tone and network lost tone
