hey guys is there an app out that keeps u up to date on any and all cell phone news?

You can install the 2.1 weather and news widget, which will allow you to create a category which in this case could be called "cell phone", most of us use it have a custom one called "Android".

Do a search for the widget, and you can install it to your phone, or download to the phone. Will need Astro or another file manager top rename, then open the file to install.
