I have a samsung stratosphere. This is now the second time in 2 weeks that my phone has send out an email to a whole bunch of people. I only have one person in my contact list so first off I don't know how it's going to people. I'm guessing just from emails that are sitting in my inbox. And how is his happening? I tried to do some research to see if phones can get a virus, a lot of people are saying no and then some saying yes, but it's hard to get. The email that is being sent out is: "I hope your job is going good. I wanted to tell you about a great job opportunity in your locality.
We have had several of our clients take this opp and I have heard lots of great success stories.

The newspaper has an article featuring one of our members, Kelly Richards. It will also you all you all the relevant information you need to get started.
The article is at http:// and I guess the article will be featured on the home-page until tomorrow.

see you

I took the website off so no one clicks on it. Has anyone had this issue or ever heard of it? Any suggestions on what I can do?

I had this exact problem. I have a Droid phone as well, however actually this problem wasn't related to the phone. It appears to be a virus on the Verizon email servers.

Look at page 3 of this thread to get info:

Email account hijacked (both local outlook and verizon mobile emails) - Verizon | Forums and Blogs - Verizon Community

Bottom line (for that iteration of the virus) was - check your Verizon webmail contact list.

I'm having the same problem again, but now it's a bit more insidious. Info is inside that thread.

If you find any more information, please post it. I'm hoping for a solution as well.

it might be an application screwing with your phone I would download ad network detector by lookout

I don't believe that's the case. Many of the contacts the emails are being sent to are not on my phone. They're also not in my google/gmail account even, thus they're not coming from the google server.

This is the same case as before - it was using contacts from the Verizon server, not the phone. I'm pretty sure this is not a mobile virus - the "Sent Using Verizon.net Mobile" at the end of the email is apparently just something to throw people off.
