not sure what to do,.. i followed the instructions on june fabrics site..

network settings on the mac says that it is DHCP, but "ethernet Adaptor (en3) has a self-assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the Internet."

what does this mean?

I have a Mac and used Pdanet prior to rooting. I do not recall having this issue but my senses is the issue is on the Mac settings. Try turning off your airport.

Two other thoughts -- uninstall and reinstall the app on your phone. I do not recall do you need to check the USB debugging and connect USB, and turn off wifi.

Second, try the other app, easy tether free in market.

If you decide to root you can use the wireless tether app. I've used it for quite sometime without any issues. It is very easy to install and set up. When we travel I'm able to connect my phone and mac book pro and access anything.

PdaNet is faster than Wireless Tether. I have done many speed tests, and Pdanet is faster than wireless tether 9-10 times. And yes PdaNet will work after root.
