Pandora vs. internal music

In your experience, what depletes batteries faster, playing Pandora or music you've downloaded?

It's my understanding that Pandora essentially downloads an MP3 temporarily to your device and plays that.

So Pandora has the extra battery pull of downloading the file on top of playing it, which is significant.

Pandora definitely uses more. It doesn't download mp3 (it's AC3) and it just streams it. But yeah, you have the extra load of 3g/wifi. Pandora seems to use a lot more power than it should.
