The OnePlus 2 is pretty popular in the dev and mod community because the OEM that produces it is incredibly developer friendly. Their OnePlus One was one of the first to run Cyanogen natively. The follow up device runs Oxygen OS which is a custom rom by some of the former leadership of the Paranoid Android team. Oxygen OS is based on Stock AOSP Android and includes some customization options.
If Oxygen is a bit too custom for you and you would rather a more stock AOSP experience there is a new rom for the OnePlus 2 that should be just right for you. OxySlim is based on Oxygen OS 2.2.0, but is slimmed down to be more like stock Android. The Rom still includes performance enhancements and improvements in fingerprint sensor speeds. This rom also includes Layers support for theming.
