I actually just tried it, and indeed it worked. It did not some weeks ago...and I see in another thread someone commented that this was fixed in a recent Skype update (I originally installed it from the Market). So...it will launch with WiFi. I wonder what happens if I try voice...
Aha. With WiFi connected, connecting via a Skype call to a friend...the phone dials using the regular dialer to an area 404 number...clearly some kind of Verizon Skype gateway. As expected...I wonder what will/might happen if I am somewhere that has no CDMA/3G, and I am on WiFi and try it...when I manage to do that, I'll report back on my findings.
