overriding its suggestions on a case-by-case basis?

When I want to type something that it is not familiar with, like maybe some letters like FB and I do not want to accept what it is trying to suggest, how do I continue typing without it changing that word?

you just click the letters you actually typed that should be in the far left of the suggested words. for instance if you type fb there will be a list of possible words that pops up under your message and you just click on fb by touching it and it will put that in there. hope that helps.
