Outlook email: Can recieve email but cannot send

First time poster here. On my droid x I use an outlook email account for my school and I am able to read my emails but am unable to send emails.

I have tried using my pod 50004.outlook.com as my stmp and 587 as my port and none of it seems to be working any help would be greatly appreciated

It was complicated setting up my email account to handle my college account, and the school limited outgoing SMPT mail to my gmail. However, I've now been able to set it up through the corporate email preinstalled app, and it's a breeze. You may have to contact the school IT dept for correct settings, but with me I needed to check secure certificate, and verify certificate, i just limited the sync to email without calendar and contacts by choice, and the server was webmail.(rest of school email suffix).
