OtterBox for the Droid sucks

My front panel lasted less than two weeks. My phone was sitting on my desk and "ping"! the front cover cracked at the top right corner and the cover jumped off my phone. That is all.

AV1611 out....

P.S.: the bottom cover is great. The top = not so much.

I think you got a lemon. I have been running the otterbox commuter case for about six months now and havent had one problem..

Lots of people on this forum are reporting problems with this case. Check out the case on Amazon as well. I wish I had.

As with anything else, the only thing you are ever going to see is the complaints, not the people that are happy.

If I went by everything I read on the Internet there isn't a decent smart phone out there. Let alone a case.

I've had an OtterBox for awhile now, and have had no issues. It seems very durable to me, and comes off easily enough when I need to do a battery pull, which was an issue with the case I had before it.

You shouldn't have to do battery pulls with a Droid…..but that's nice to know.

Did the same thing on mine i'm on my third free replacement and i broke an hour after i put the third one on so what i did was i went to my local Mall and purchased a $5 front leather cover at one of those little station they have in the malls and its been good ever since.

I had that happen to me. I went to sleep, and in the morning it was broke. I called them and they sent another one out to me right away. Haven't installed the new one on my phone yet.

Been using the Otter Box commuter case for 5 months with no problems whatsoever. Can take the case off for cleaning easily and it snaps back on easily. And, has not popped off for any reason, explainable logically or not.

I also encountered this problem. Finally, I had to replace it with a Pdair case, much better!

Wow, I had the same thing happen, though I was trying to pull the upper cover off at the time. The Lower cover seems fine, so I'm ordering and El Cheapo clear cover from Big Red for 3 bucks and will just use the upper cover from that set.

I agree with droider - been about the same time for length of time for me and I think it's the best case made.I plan on getting one soon for my Droid X.

I love my commuter. The tab on the top part of the case wore out after 4 months, but otterbox sent me a replacement in record time, at no cost to me. I'm still a fan!
