OTA update

I recently unrooted my droid but I can't seem to receive OTA updates from verizon to update my current OS. If anyone knows a quick fix, it would help greatly, or should I just take it to verizon for a new phone

My current version of Andoid is 2.2.1 build # FRG83D. I might have deleted my update.zip file from my phone. I never changed the OS when i rooted but ever since i unrooted and removed the superuser permissions, i keep getting the notification of a software update. But it never downloads. It goes into the boot screen and asks to load from the update.zip (deprecated). Not sure what that means. I may hve just effed myself until i get back to the lower 48 to get a new phone.
