Its named one of the specific devices to work...

My D2 is miles ahead of me running Cm7GB(OTAkernel)

Haha what's up drum..ya my wife has a D2G so I don't wanna update if I can't root and I haven't read a single person rooting the OTAD2G so I'm just playing it safe.

Read: The D3 root method is universal on all moto devices. It will work for any moto device on Gingerbread or lower.
