The now venerable yet still impressive Motorola Droid X may be tougher than most people imagine. In fact, it supposedly can even survive a trial by fire. According to one owner, that's exactly what his did, literally. Supposedly, a proud owner of a Droid X had his device fall into a campfire, and it lived to tell the tale. In fact, it is still almost completely functional. Here's a quote with some details,

One man found out the other day when in a less than sober condition, he dropped his Motorola DROID X face first into a campfire. But as we said, the DROID line has always been built tough. Believe it or not, even in its scarred condition the touchscreen, buttons, camera and speaker all still work. The battery and microSD card are fused to the back of the unit which still recharges the battery.

Even though it was only two years ago, I guess they don't make 'em like they used to...

really .. mine died after 2 oz of water got spilled on it . killed another while working on vehicle and rolled over in mud puddle.. but yet it deals with fire .. must be the devil :icon_ devil:

Noice story... My trusty ole LG Ally is still kickin' after being submerged in a waterfall, pool of mud (which got all inside the headphone jack, yet that too still works perfect), and soaked other numerous times. The little fella never dies. Never tried open flame though, don't plan to either.

Well I never tried to "roast" my DX but it did survive quite a few falls. Tough phone for sure!

My phones are treated like divas I guess lmao :) I would never put my device in that situation... even if I was less than sober... lmao

DROID RAZR MAXXIMIZED!!!! PREPARE TO BE VANQUISHED!!!

Well, it's sort of hard to tell if they "make 'em like they used to" - as this is the first time i've heard of a phone being functional after being dropped in a fire. Note, I am NOT going to drop my Bionic into a fire to see if it survives *LOL*

Yeah... see my krueger phone??? Lmao

Y'know, thinking about this some more and given the total lack of evidence (no pics or video of the thing actually being used) I am going to call BS on this one. Anyone can take a pic of a melted phone and CLAIM it still works. In this case, SHOW ME.

I believe it. i dropped my X soo many times there is dents and dings all over it and it was still working great! hope i have that luck with my new Samsung s3...doesn't feel quite as solid.
