ota system updates wont always work or even be available to you while rooted for one, second there is always possibility of things going wrong while rooted requiring you to restore the factory system which will remove the root. and third, of course you shouldnt take a rooted phone back to the store, as it may be voided...the list goes on and on, but once you have the tools organized, you will be minutes away from whatever you like, whenever you like.
get the sbf files and drivers together, and have them on the ready( brings your phone back to stock), then do what you like. you can youtube sbf. takes me 8minutes to go from hacked up to out of box state, gb or froyo
