On stock ME7 trying to root

So I am stock and on ME7. I am trying to root using the method on xda. I am having trouble installing the device drivers. I have tried many ways and times. Downloaded and installed and it gets hung up at the MTP USB spot of the install and it fails to install it. I removed all the driver files and downloaded them again straight from the samsung website and tried to install drivers again and again it failed. I have spent the last 4 days trying to get the stupid drivers to install. Can somebody please help???

Have you checked into the safe strap method by hash code on xda? If not, it might be worth while to do so. It is a way of installing custom roms, but not thru normal recovery.

Most everything you will need to know should be on the very first page, including the most current download, etc. I'm not on me7, but have been keeping up with it somewhat. I would think it would be the way to go.

Sorry, I can't help you with the rooting question, above my head.
